Lingonberries from North America, frozen at their peak. Ours are harvested in Canada and the USA, not imported from Scandinavia, and frozen right after picking to lock in their bright, tart flavour.
Frozen Lingonberries (Mountain Cranberries)
Lingonberries are small, ruby-red berries with a clean, tangy flavour, a little like cranberry but softer, juicier and less bitter. In Scandinavia they're a kitchen staple, and they're the classic partner for Swedish meatballs, potato pancakes and holiday roasts.
At a glance
- Origin: harvested in Canada and the USA

- Flavour: tart, bright and slightly sweet
- Sizes: 1 lb ($23), 2 lb ($45) or 3 lb ($60, best value at $20/lb)

How to use them
Simmer with a little sugar for a quick lingonberry jam (no pectin needed). Spoon over meatballs, roast pork or venison. Bake them into muffins, scones and crumbles, stir into oatmeal or yogurt, or blend into smoothies. They hold their shape in baking and add a pop of colour to any dish.
Lingonberry vs. cranberry
Both are tart red berries, but lingonberries are smaller and softer, with a rounder, less astringent flavour. You can use them in place of cranberries in almost any recipe; most people find they need a little less sugar.
