Pine or Matsutake are also known as The Holy Grail of wild mushrooms.
Matsutake mushrooms feature solid white flesh, a pronounced cinnamon and pine scent, a firm, chewy texture, and a spicy flavor.
They are highly valued in Japanese culture and are supposed to bring fertility, wealth, and happiness.
Grilled on charcoal. Steamed in Dashi. Simply cooked with rice!
