Alder catkins (flower clusters) are dried for convenience and flavor preservation.
Adds pepper, spice, pine, and wintergreen aromatics and flavor. Suitable for late additions to IPA, saison, witbier, pale ale, spruce beer, gruit, or gently spiced beers. Unique, adaptable, and complements new-age hops, Saaz breeds, coriander, lemon, or orange flavors.
Also useful in woodland teas, kombucha, and spiced foods. It works very well with game birds, venison, and poultry.
